Where do new students register?

Starting the first Wednesday in July through the first Wednesday in August, students can register at Kinnikinnick School, 5410 Pine Lane, Roscoe, IL 61073, from 8:00 am-12:00 noon. The second week in August you can register at each school.

How do I know what bus my child will ride, where the pick-up point is, and what time they will be picked up?

Call the Laidlaw Bus Company at 815-624-7377 for this information.

What is the first day of student attendance?

Students begin classes on August 22, 2007.

What is the Starting Time and Dismissal Time for school?

Ledgewood starts at 8:10 a.m.
2:25 p.m. dismissal for bus students
2:35 p.m. dismissal for pick-up or walking students

Stone Creek starts at 8:10 a.m.
2:25 p.m. dismissal for bus students
2:35 p.m. dismissal for pick-up or walking students

Kinnikinnick School starts at 8:10 a.m.
2:25 p.m. dismissal

Roscoe Middle School starts at 8:35 a.m.
3:20 p.m. dismissal

What does hot lunch cost?

Ledgewood, Stone Creek, and Kinnikinnick School lunch is $1.75 per day including milk. Milk only is 40 cents.

What do I do if I need to pick my child up early or for an appointment?

Send a note with the student indicating the date and time the student needs to be picked up.
Come into the school office and sign the student out.
If the student is returning to school the same day, the student must check back in with the school office before going to class.

What information do I need in order to register my child as a new student in the district?

Two (2) proofs of residency (e.g. closing papers, lease agreement, utility bills, anything with name and new address, change of address form from the post office, owner occupied exemption form)
Copy of original birth certificate
Social Security number of the child
Copy of current physical examination (new physical for kindergarten and 5th grade; out of state students need new Illinois physical)

How do I know if school is being dismissed due to weather conditions?

What do I do if my child is going to be absent from school?

Call your child's absence to the school office after 7:30 a.m. but prior to 9:00 a.m.

Is there a choice of morning or afternoon Kindergarten?

Currently Kindergarten placement is determined by home address. East of Rt. 251, with the exception of the Village of Roscoe, is morning classes. West of Rt. 251 and the Village of Roscoe is afternoon classes.

When may I register my child for Kindergarten?

Kindergarten registration is in the spring of the year--usually March
