Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions. If you don't find what you need here, please check our Parent/Student Handbook.

 

Where do new students register?

Please go to Ledgewood or Stone Creek Elementary Schools for grades K-3,
Kinnikinnick School for grades 4-5 and Roscoe Middle School for grades 6-8.
Offices are open from 8-3.

How do I know what bus my child will ride, where the pick-up point is, and what time they will be picked up?

IL Central will be mailing postcards to you with this information prior to the first day of school.

What is the Starting Time and Dismissal Time for school?

Ledgewood starts at 8:10 a.m.
2:25 p.m. dismissal for bus students
2:35 p.m. dismissal for pick-up or walking students

8:10-10:40 a.m.
11:55-2:25 p.m.

Stone Creek starts at 8:10 a.m.
2:25 p.m. dismissal for bus students

If you are considering Y-CARE, do not hesitate to register. It is important to contact the RMS office immediately. This service can only be provided in collaboration with the YMCA with a minimum amount of participants.

When will I know what building and teacher my child is assigned?

All class lists will be posted at all buildings on August 19th by 8:00 a.m.

When can I meet the teacher and drop off school supplies?

Most students wait until the first day to meet their teacher. Parent Orientations begin the first week of school. The buildings are open and teachers return on August 22nd. The two days before school begins we will be working to make the school year start off right! If you do stop in on August 22 or 23, you may drop off supplies in the classroom. Teachers may not be available.

What if I missed the PTO school supply kit pick-up?

The PTO will make sure that your child’s supplies are dropped off in the appropriate building.

What does hot lunch cost?

Ledgewood, Stone Creek, and Kinnikinnick School lunch is $2.25 per day including milk. Milk only is 40 cents.

Roscoe Middle School lunch is $2.50 per day including milk. Milk only is 40 cents

What do I do if I need to pick my child up early or for an appointment?

Send a note with the student indicating the date and time the student needs to be picked up.
Come into the school office and sign the student out.
If the student is returning to school the same day, the student must check back in with the school office before going to class.

What information do I need in order to register my child as a new student in the district?

  • Two (2) proofs of residency (e.g. closing papers, lease agreement, utility bills, anything with name and new address, change of address form from the post office, owner occupied exemption form.) Drivers Licenses will not be accepted.
  • Certified copy of child's birth certificate
  • Name, address and phone number of child's previous school.
  • Current Immunization and current physical examination records. If new to Illinois, you must submit an Illinois State Physical Form.
  • IEP and/or 504 paperwork, if applicable.

Registration Fees:
Early Childhood - $25.00
Kdg-8th grade- $50.00
Technology fee will be $15.00 per student (EC-8th grade)

What do I do if my child is going to be absent from school?

Call your child's absence to the school office after 7:30 a.m. but prior to 9:00 a.m.
